Harriet Bowman writes hybrid scripts working with words that surround material and narrative.
Her writing exists alongside sculpture adding texture in printed matter, spoken word performance, textures and layers in installations.
Something existing for only a moment is key enquiry – she looks for traces of collisions and transitions of particular materials, the leftovers, or residue after an event has taken place. Interrogating the material. She takes on an investigatory role, gathering evidence from the early stages of the material processes through to secondary and recycled uses. These investigations go on to inform.
