ANNIE STRACHAN

Lives & works in South East London

Sustainable processes and techniques are central to Annie Strachan‘s practice. Working with recycled materials including; wood, textiles and paper mâché, she creates small batch and one-off functional sculptures intended for everyday use in the home.

Influenced by set design seen in post-war Hollywood cinema, opposing architectural themes including; Modernism and Postmodernism are interpreted through the creation of playful abstract forms.

Annie has previously exhibited at fairs and as part of public sculpture trails, she also regularly takes part in gallery shows and has taught workshops to university students and community groups.

Her work has been featured widely both in print and online by Dezeen, Harper’s Bazaar, House & Garden, It’s Nice That, The Modern House Journal, Sight Unseen and Wrap Magazine.
